Overview
Ginsenotriol disuccinate sodium (KPCXM18) is a semi-synthetic natural product derivative developed by Kunming Pharmaceutical Group (KPC) for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. It is a water-soluble disuccinate ester of protopanaxatriol, a sapogenin derived from *Panax ginseng*. The compound is designed to provide neuroprotection by mitigating brain damage following ischemia-reperfusion injury. Its mechanism of action involves anti-apoptotic and anti-inflammatory effects, potentially through the stabilization of mitochondrial function and the reduction of oxidative stress in neural tissues. As of recent reports, the drug is being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials in China as an injectable formulation.
