Ginseol K-g1

Ginseol K-g1 is a standardized extract of *Panax ginseng* (Korean ginseng) that is specifically enriched for protopanaxatriol (PPT)-type ginsenosides. Developed by CJ Cheiljedang and clinically evaluated by Seoul National University Hospital, the extract contains a specific profile of ginsenosides including Rg1, Re, Rb1, Rb2, Rc, and Rd. It was investigated for its potential to lower blood pressure in individuals with prehypertension or stage I hypertension. The mechanism is believed to involve the enhancement of nitric oxide release and improvement of endothelial function, leading to vasodilation. While Phase 3 studies showed a blood pressure-lowering effect at 4 weeks with a 300 mg dose, the effect was not maintained through the 8-week study period.
