Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination drug consisting of Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide (GIP), Xenin-25, and atropine. GIP is an incretin hormone that stimulates insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, inhibits pancreatic beta cell apoptosis, and plays roles in bone remodeling and fat metabolism. Xenin-25 is a peptide hormone likely related to the incretin system. Atropine is an anticholinergic medication used for treating bradyarrhythmias, AV heart block, and as premedication for anesthesia. This combination may be under investigation for metabolic conditions.
