Overview
GKIND012A is a small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by China Resources Guokang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The drug targets sialidase (also known as neuraminidase) or sialo proteins, which are involved in the regulation of cellular signaling and inflammatory responses through the cleavage of sialic acid residues from cell surface glycoconjugates. By modulating these targets, GKIND012A aims to address the underlying inflammation and pathophysiology associated with COPD. As of 2024, the program is in the IND-enabling (Pre-IND) stage of development.
