Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GKL-006Allo is an allogeneic invariant Natural Killer T (iNKT) cell therapy developed by Beijing Gene-Qiming Biotechnology for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. iNKT cells are a unique subset of T lymphocytes that express a semi-invariant T-cell receptor (TCR) which recognizes glycolipid antigens presented by the MHC class I-like molecule, CD1d. Unlike conventional T cells, iNKT cells bridge the innate and adaptive immune systems; upon activation, they can directly lyse tumor cells and rapidly secrete large quantities of cytokines (such as IFN-gamma and IL-4) to recruit and activate other immune effectors, including NK cells, dendritic cells, and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. As an allogeneic ('off-the-shelf') product, GKL-006Allo is manufactured from healthy donor cells, allowing for immediate availability and standardized dosing. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in China to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced solid tumors.
