GL113

GL113 is a rat monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 isotype that specifically targets beta-galactosidase (β-galactosidase). It is primarily utilized in preclinical immunological research as an isotype control for other rat-derived antibodies, such as the anti-IL-5 antibody TRFK-5. In murine models of asthma and allergic pulmonary inflammation, GL113 serves as a non-binding control to account for the non-specific biological effects associated with the administration of exogenous rat immunoglobulin. By using GL113, researchers can differentiate between target-specific therapeutic outcomes and general immune responses or protein-related artifacts. In experimental settings, GL113 has demonstrated no significant impact on eosinophil recruitment to the lungs or bone marrow, cytokine production, or immunoglobulin levels in sensitized mice.
