Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Glaxal Base Cream is a non-medicated, hypoallergenic moisturizing cream formulated as an oil-in-water emollient. It is widely utilized in clinical settings as a standard-of-care for the management and prevention of radiation-induced dermatitis in patients undergoing radiotherapy for cancers such as breast cancer. The cream acts by creating a protective occlusive barrier on the skin surface, maintaining hydration, and reducing friction trauma, which is particularly beneficial in high-risk areas like the axilla and inframammary fold. It is free from common irritants such as perfumes, lanolin, and parabens, making it suitable for sensitive skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, and severe xerosis. The brand was developed by WellSpring Pharmaceutical Corporation and was part of a portfolio divestiture to Audax Private Equity in 2017.
