Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GLCP-086-1 is a small molecule inhibitor of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) pathway, currently in preclinical development by Galenicap. It is being investigated as a neuroprotective agent for the treatment of ischemic stroke, specifically to be administered in conjunction with mechanical thrombectomy. The JNK pathway is a key mediator of neuronal death (apoptosis) following ischemic insult and reperfusion. By inhibiting this pathway, GLCP-086-1 aims to mitigate the secondary brain injury that occurs after the restoration of blood flow, thereby preserving neurological function and improving patient recovery.
