glecaprevir + pibrentasvir

Glecaprevir/pibrentasvir is a fixed-dose combination antiviral medication used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection across all six major genotypes (1-6). Developed by AbbVie, the regimen combines two direct-acting antivirals with distinct mechanisms of action: glecaprevir, an HCV NS3/4A protease inhibitor, and pibrentasvir, an HCV NS5A inhibitor. This pan-genotypic therapy is indicated for patients without cirrhosis or with compensated cirrhosis, including those with severe renal impairment or those who have failed previous treatments with other antivirals. By inhibiting viral polyprotein processing and RNA replication, the combination achieves high rates of sustained virologic response (SVR). It is typically administered as a once-daily oral treatment.
