Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gletimbetasin (NL005) is a recombinant human thymosin beta 4 (Tβ4) protein being developed by Beijing Northland Biotech for the treatment of cardiovascular and respiratory conditions. Comprised of 44 amino acids, it acts as an actin-sequestering protein and modulator of thymosin beta 4. In the context of acute myocardial infarction, it is designed to improve heart function, enhance collateral circulation, and mitigate myocardial reperfusion injury. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its potential to improve cardiac configuration and safety. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for acute myocardial infarction and has been studied in healthy volunteers to assess safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
