Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GLH8NDE is a small molecule eupatilin derivative being developed by GL Pharm Tech Corporation for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. Formulated as a 5% ophthalmic solution, the drug is intended to leverage the anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective properties of eupatilin to treat ocular surface disease. Clinical development has progressed through Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic studies in healthy volunteers and into Phase 2 trials to evaluate efficacy and safety in patients with dry eye disease. Phase 1 studies in healthy Korean and Caucasian volunteers demonstrated that the drug is rapidly absorbed and well-tolerated without significant systemic effects.
