GliadinX

GliadinX is a dietary supplement containing a prolyl endopeptidase derived from the fungus *Aspergillus niger* (AN-PEP). It is designed as an adjuvant therapy for individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity who are following a gluten-free diet. The enzyme's primary function is the intraluminal detoxification of gluten; it works by cleaving the proline-rich immunogenic peptides in gluten that are otherwise resistant to human digestive enzymes. By degrading these peptides in the stomach and duodenum before they reach the small intestine, GliadinX aims to prevent the autoimmune response triggered by inadvertent gluten exposure. The product is developed and marketed by AVI Research, LLC and has been the subject of clinical trials evaluating its efficacy through the measurement of gluten immunogenic peptides (GIP) in stool and urine.
