Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gliopep is a lipophilic peptide-drug conjugate (PDC) being developed by Oncopeptides for the treatment of glioblastoma. The drug is specifically engineered to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB), a significant challenge in treating central nervous system malignancies. Utilizing Oncopeptides' proprietary PDC platform, Gliopep is designed to deliver a cytotoxic payload directly into tumor cells while minimizing systemic exposure. As of 2024, the program is in the research phase, with plans for a 'Window-of-Opportunity' clinical study. The Norwegian Directorate of Medical Products (DMP) has granted the program fast-track designation to accelerate its clinical development. The specific molecular target of the conjugate has not been publicly disclosed.
