GliSODin is a patented, orally active nutritional supplement. Its main active ingredient is superoxide dismutase (SOD), an antioxidant enzyme, derived from a specific, non-GMO cantaloupe melon extract (*Cucumis melo* L.). [1, 11, 21] This SOD extract is combined with gliadin, a wheat protein, which protects the enzyme from degradation in the digestive tract, ensuring its bioavailability. [3, 13] Developed and manufactured by the French company ISOCELL, GliSODin works by stimulating the body's own antioxidant defense system, rather than acting as a direct, single-use antioxidant. [3, 8, 14] It has been clinically studied for various applications, including reducing oxidative stress, protecting skin from UV damage, improving skin conditions like melasma and vitiligo, supporting immune function, and aiding in sports recovery. [1, 4, 10, 15] It is marketed as a nutricosmetic and dietary supplement. [4, 11]
