GLK-311

GLK-311 is a transdermal sustained-release cream formulation of travoprost, developed by Glaukos Corporation using its proprietary iLution platform. It is designed for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The cream is applied to the outer surface of the eyelid, where it acts as a depot, delivering the active pharmaceutical ingredient through the dermis to the eye. This "dropless" approach aims to address patient compliance issues associated with daily eye drop instillation in glaucoma management. Travoprost, the active ingredient, is a prostaglandin F2α analog that reduces intraocular pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral pathways.
