Globulol is a naturally occurring sesquiterpene alcohol belonging to the aromadendrane class, primarily isolated from the fruit of *Alpinia oxyphylla* Miq. (a traditional Chinese medicinal plant) and various *Eucalyptus* species. It is recognized for its diverse pharmacological profile, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities. In recent oncological research, globulol has demonstrated potential as an antitumor agent, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Its mechanism of action is thought to involve the modulation of the tumor microenvironment and the downregulation of Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression. By reducing PD-L1 levels, globulol may enhance the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibodies, thereby promoting a more robust immune response against cancer cells.
