Overview

GLP-06 is an experimental peptide-based biologic developed by Imperial College London for the treatment of obesity. As a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue, it acts as an agonist at the GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R). Its primary mechanism of action involves appetite reduction and increased satiety, leading to decreased food intake and subsequent weight loss. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation in overweight or obese adult volunteers to assess safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in a first-in-human study.
