Overview
GLP-1 MAP is a transdermal drug-device combination program being developed by TSRLabs (formerly Therapeutic Systems Research Laboratories) for the treatment of diabetes. The system utilizes a hydrogel-forming microarray patch (MAP) to deliver a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist peptide across the skin barrier, bypassing the need for traditional subcutaneous injections. By targeting the GLP-1 receptor, the therapy stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, slows gastric emptying, and suppresses glucagon release to support glucose regulation. The program is currently in the evaluation stage under a Fast-Track Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant.
