Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GLS-5140 is a prophylactic DNA vaccine developed for the prevention of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS), caused by Dabie bandavirus (formerly known as SFTS virus or SFTSV). The mechanism of action involves immunostimulation to induce protective immune responses against the virus. It is being developed by GeneOne Life Science in collaboration with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology[1][2][4]. Preclinical studies have shown that animals vaccinated with GLS-5140 remained healthy after challenge with a lethal dose of SFTSV[10].
