Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GLS-6100 is a prophylactic DNA vaccine candidate being developed by GeneOne Life Science for the prevention of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The vaccine is designed as a biological modality to provide an efficacious, safe, and cost-effective means to prevent HCV infection in at-risk individuals who have never been exposed to the virus. GLS-6100 works by delivering DNA plasmids that encode multiple HCV proteins into host cells, where they are expressed to elicit a broad and robust immune response intended to prevent viral growth and establishment of infection upon exposure.
