Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GLSE compound is a nutraceutical intervention derived from the spores of *Ganoderma lucidum* (commonly known as Lingzhi or Reishi mushroom). It is being evaluated by the Chinese PLA General Hospital as a supportive clinical nutrition therapy for patients with lung neoplasms and breast carcinoma who are undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. The extract is believed to possess immunomodulatory and anti-tumor properties, potentially enhancing the host's immune response by activating natural killer (NK) cells and T-lymphocytes, and reducing the adverse effects associated with conventional oncological treatments.
