Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gylden Pharma's GLP-1 microneedle patch is an investigational transdermal therapy currently in Phase 1 development for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Utilizing Gylden Pharma's proprietary Gylden Patch technology, the system is designed to provide a painless, self-administered alternative to traditional subcutaneous injections of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. The patch consists of an array of microscopic needles that penetrate the stratum corneum to deliver the GLP-1 peptide directly into the underlying dermis. This delivery modality aims to improve patient compliance and provide stable therapeutic levels of the hormone, which plays a critical role in regulating glucose metabolism and appetite.
