GlucaTex

GlucaTex is a brand name for glucagon, a recombinant hormone used as a critical emergency medication to treat severe hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar) in patients with diabetes. It is also utilized in clinical settings to temporarily inhibit gastrointestinal motility during radiologic examinations. Glucagon is a 29-amino acid polypeptide produced via recombinant DNA technology that mimics the endogenous hormone secreted by the alpha cells of the pancreas.
