Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Glucovit Forte is an oral combination nutraceutical developed by Zakfas Pharmaceutical, primarily indicated for the management of osteoarthritis and the maintenance of joint health. It contains two primary active ingredients: glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate. Glucosamine is an amino sugar that serves as a critical precursor for the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans, which are essential structural components of articular cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan that provides cartilage with resistance to compression and helps maintain fluid balance within the joint matrix. Together, these components work synergistically to stimulate chondrocyte activity, promote cartilage repair, and inhibit degradative enzymes such as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and aggrecanase. The product is used to alleviate joint pain, reduce inflammation, and improve functional mobility in patients with degenerative joint diseases.
