Overview

**glucose + moxifloxacin** is a combination of two substances: - **Glucose** is a simple carbohydrate used therapeutically for treating hypoglycemia and as an energy source in intravenous infusions. - **Moxifloxacin** is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, used to treat various bacterial infections by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and transcription. Combined administration has been studied to assess pharmacodynamic interactions, particularly relating to cardiac electrophysiology, such as QTc interval prolongation, and to glucose/insulin metabolic effects. Moxifloxacin alone exhibits insulinotropic effects (stimulating insulin release and lowering blood glucose) and is associated with risks of dysglycemia. The combination is mostly relevant in research exploring additive effects on QTc prolongation in subjects with hyperglycemia and as a probe for metabolic/cardiac response in clinical research[1][2].
