Developed and manufactured by Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals), this combination product typically contains dextrose (glucose) and sodium chloride in various concentrations, such as 5% dextrose and 0.9% sodium chloride. In clinical research, it is frequently employed as a placebo control or a vehicle for the administration of investigational drugs, such as the vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist HRS-9057. Sodium chloride is the principal salt involved in maintaining the osmotic tension of the blood and tissues, helping to replace essential ions, while glucose provides a readily available source of metabolic energy.
