Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gludipha is an oral antidiabetic medication containing metformin hydrochloride, a biguanide small molecule. Developed and manufactured by the Vietnamese company Vidipha, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. It is used as monotherapy or in combination with other agents like sulfonylureas when glycemic control is inadequate. The drug is approved in Vietnam and is typically administered as a film-coated tablet.
