Glutoxim

Glutoxim is a synthetic disulfide peptide and an analog of oxidized glutathione (GSSG), developed and manufactured by Pharma VAM. It belongs to a class of innate defense regulators (IDRs) that modulate the body's internal defense systems through redox regulation. Specifically, the drug initiates redox processes involving the formation of disulfide bonds in extracellular and surface-cellular peptide molecules, leading to immunomodulatory, cytoprotective, and toxic-modifying effects. Glutoxim is approved in the Russian Federation for the complex therapy of various conditions, including tuberculosis (where it acts as an indirect antibacterial agent), oncological diseases (as a cytoprotector and immunomodulator), psoriasis, and sexually transmitted infections. Its mechanism involves stimulating bone marrow hematopoiesis and activating the phagocytic system, thereby restoring levels of neutrophils, monocytes, and lymphocytes in peripheral blood.
