Overview

GLY-201 is a preclinical-stage oligosaccharide therapeutic developed by Glycan Therapeutics for the treatment of acute liver injury (ALI) and drug-induced acute liver failure (DIALF). It functions by targeting High Mobility Group Box 1 (HMGB1), a nuclear protein that, when released into the extracellular space during tissue injury, acts as a potent pro-inflammatory mediator. GLY-201 specifically inhibits HMGB1-mediated neutrophil recruitment, thereby mitigating sterile inflammation and preventing further hepatic damage.
