Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Miniderm Comp is a topical emollient cream containing 20% glycerol and 2% urea, developed by ACO Hud Nordic. It is indicated for the treatment of dry skin (xerosis) in patients of all ages, including those with a history of atopic dermatitis. The combination of urea and glycerol works synergistically to strengthen the skin barrier and increase its water-binding capacity, thereby normalizing dry skin and reducing symptoms such as itching and redness. Clinical studies have demonstrated its superiority in reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) compared to untreated skin and standard paraffin-based creams. The cream base is designed to deliver these active substances effectively while maintaining a self-preserved emollient environment.
