Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DARE-GML is a novel, multi-target antimicrobial formulation of glycerol monolaurate (GML) being developed by Daré Bioscience for the treatment of various vaginal health conditions, including bacterial, fungal, and viral infections. GML is a naturally occurring fatty acid ester that exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity by disrupting microbial cell membranes and inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines and exotoxins. Daré Bioscience acquired the exclusive global rights to develop and commercialize GML-based treatments from Hennepin Life Sciences in August 2022. The program is positioned as a potential first-in-category antimicrobial for conditions such as bacterial vaginosis and other intravaginal infections.
