Overview

Glyceryl eicosapentaenoate is an ester derived from eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid. It is under investigation as an ingredient in topical skincare formulations, notably creams and serums, for its potential moisturizing and hydration-enhancing effects on sensitive and dry skin. Unlike ethyl eicosapentaenoate (icosapent ethyl), glyceryl eicosapentaenoate is not approved as a pharmaceutical for systemic use and currently is studied only for topical dermatological applications.
