Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Glycine max leaf extract is a botanical extract derived from the leaves of the soybean plant (*Glycine max* L. Merr.). It is rich in phytochemicals, including kaempferol glycosides, isoflavones (such as genistin), pterocarpans, and flavonoids. The extract has been investigated for its potential therapeutic effects in managing metabolic disorders, including obesity, prediabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Its mechanism of action involves antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, as well as the modulation of lipid and glucose metabolism. While it is used as a dietary supplement and a cosmetic ingredient for skin conditioning, it is not currently approved as a pharmaceutical drug for specific medical indications.
