Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Glycodelin antibody (anti-glycodelin antibody) refers to monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies targeting glycodelin (also known as progestagen-associated endometrial protein, PAEP, or placental protein 14, PP14). Glycodelin is a pregnancy-associated glycoprotein with potent immunosuppressive properties that is aberrantly expressed in various malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. In the tumor microenvironment, glycodelin interacts with immune cells (such as CD8+ T cells and M2 macrophages) to promote an immunosuppressive, tumor-promoting state, which is associated with resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors and poor prognosis. Targeting glycodelin with blocking antibodies is being investigated preclinically as a novel immuno-oncology strategy to reorganize the tumor microenvironment, promote pro-inflammatory cytokine expression, and restore anti-tumor immune responses.
