GlycoPEG-GCSF is a long-acting, GlycoPEGylated form of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) developed for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. By attaching polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains via glycosylation to G-CSF, the molecule’s half-life is significantly extended compared to unmodified G-CSF, allowing for less frequent dosing. The drug acts by stimulating the production and maturation of neutrophils from bone marrow progenitor cells through agonism at the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor. This mechanism helps reduce infection risk in patients undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy who are prone to severe neutropenia[1][3][6].
