Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lonhala Magnair** is a drug-device combination containing nebulized **glycopyrrolate**, a small-molecule long-acting muscarinic antagonist bronchodilator, delivered using the proprietary MAGNAIR closed-system nebulizer based on PARI Pharma's eFlow technology. Glycopyrrolate competitively antagonizes muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, principally M3 receptors on airway smooth muscle, thereby reducing cholinergic bronchoconstriction and producing sustained bronchodilation. Sunovion developed the product for long-term maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The U.S. FDA approved the product on December 5, 2017; it was subsequently voluntarily withdrawn from the U.S. market because of limited utilization.
