Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a free combination therapy consisting of glycopyrronium bromide (CHF 5259), a long-acting muscarinic M3 receptor antagonist (LAMA), and the fixed combination inhaler Foster (beclometasone dipropionate plus formoterol fumarate). Glycopyrronium acts by blocking muscarinic M3 receptors in bronchial smooth muscle to reduce bronchoconstriction and mucus secretion. Beclometasone is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation, while formoterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that induces bronchodilation. The combination aims to provide enhanced bronchodilation and anti-inflammatory effects for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma. The therapy is delivered via pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI)[2][3][4][5].
