Glycopyrronium tosylate hydrate is a topical anticholinergic agent used primarily for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) in adults and pediatric patients aged 9 years and older. It is supplied as a pre-moistened cloth containing a 2.4% solution for once-daily application to the axillae. The drug acts as a competitive inhibitor of acetylcholine receptors on peripheral tissues such as sweat glands, thereby reducing sweat production by blocking cholinergic stimulation[2][5][6][8]. Glycopyrronium is classified pharmacologically as a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist and belongs to the class of neuropsychiatric agents with dermatological applications[8].
