Overview
Glycyrrhiza flavescens subsp. antalyensis flower extract is a botanical extract derived from an endemic subspecies of licorice found only in the Antalya province of Turkey. In preclinical research, the aqueous extract has demonstrated antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic activity against melanoma cell lines. Its mechanism of action involves the induction of caspase-3 activity and the stimulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, specifically tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). As a complex natural product mixture, it is currently investigated in academic settings for its potential anticancer properties, particularly for the treatment of melanoma.
