Glycyrrhiza flavescens subsp. antalyensis leaf extract is a botanical extract derived from a Glycyrrhiza species endemic to the Antalya region of Turkey. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the aqueous leaf extract possesses antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic properties, specifically evaluated in mouse melanoma cell lines. The mechanism of action involves the induction of caspase-3 activity and the dose-dependent stimulation of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) release. The extract contains several bioactive compounds characteristic of the genus, including glycyrrhizin, glycyrrhetinic acid, carbenoxolone, and liquiritin. Currently, it remains a research-stage compound primarily investigated in academic settings for its potential anticancer applications, with no documented clinical development or commercial pharmaceutical sponsor.
