A personalized cancer vaccine produced by isolating a patient's own tumor cells, genetically modifying them ex vivo to express human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), then irradiating and administering them as a therapeutic vaccine. GM-CSF secreted by these cells acts as a potent immune adjuvant, stimulating dendritic cells (DCs), macrophages, and other immune effectors at the injection site to enhance tumor antigen presentation and induce both humoral and cellular immune responses targeting the patient’s tumor. The vaccine has been tested in early-phase clinical trials for various solid tumors, including metastatic renal cell carcinoma, melanoma, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer.
