GM-CSF retroviral vector (pDORGM) is a recombinant gene therapy research construct designed for cancer gene therapy. It was constructed by cloning the human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) cDNA into the replication-defective retroviral vector pDORneo, creating the recombinant vector pDORGM. This vector is transferred into the packaging cell line PA317 to produce retroviral particles capable of infecting tumor cells. Developed by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, the construct has been studied in vitro for infecting human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) to create GM-CSF gene-modified tumor cell vaccines that stably release GM-CSF, thereby stimulating an immune response against tumor cells.
