GM100

GM100 is a recombinant glycoprotein biologic developed by GlycoMantra that functions as a high-affinity Galectin-3 antagonist. It is a modified version of TFD100, a glycoprotein originally isolated from edible cod, and is engineered to bind Galectin-3 with picomolar affinity, making it significantly more potent than natural ligands. Galectin-3 is a carbohydrate-binding protein involved in chronic inflammation, fibrogenesis, and cancer progression. GM100 is currently in preclinical development for several indications, including metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) with liver fibrosis, and type 2 diabetes. Preclinical animal models have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing tumor metastasis and reversing fibrosis without significant adverse side effects.
