GM104 is a preclinical-stage oncolytic adenovirus candidate developed by GeneMedicine, a South Korean biotechnology company specializing in gene and viral therapies. The agent is specifically engineered to address the challenges of immunologically "cold" tumors—malignancies characterized by a lack of T-cell infiltration and a suppressed immune environment. GM104 utilizes an oncolytic platform designed to selectively replicate within cancer cells, leading to direct oncolysis. This process releases tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), which serve to prime the systemic immune system and recruit effector cells to the tumor site.
