GMM-2

GMM-2 is a combination pharmaceutical drug indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It comprises two active ingredients: Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, acts by stimulating the beta cells in the pancreas to produce and release more insulin, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. Metformin, a biguanide, works through multiple mechanisms, including reducing glucose production by the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing the sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin, which allows for more effective glucose uptake from the blood. This dual-action approach aims to improve glycemic control in adult patients whose blood sugar levels are not adequately managed by diet and exercise alone.
