Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GMRx4 is a novel proprietary ultra-low-dose triple combination candidate developed by George Medicines as a first-line treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug is a single-pill formulation containing three best-in-class agents: metformin XR (350 mg), the SGLT2 inhibitor dapagliflozin (2.5 mg), and the DPP-4 inhibitor sitagliptin (17.5 mg). Each component is formulated at a dose below the lowest currently approved strength, aiming to provide a synergistic therapeutic effect with improved safety and tolerability. GMRx4 is currently in Phase II clinical development, specifically being evaluated in the PiVOT trial for newly diagnosed patients.
