Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GMS-007 is a preclinical antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) candidate developed by Gifted Molecular Science for the treatment of COVID-19. Utilizing the company's proprietary Druggable-PNA (dPNA) platform, GMS-007 is a cell-permeable peptide nucleic acid (PNA) designed to target and bind to SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA. By binding to these viral genetic sequences, the drug is intended to inhibit the early stages of the virus life cycle, thereby preventing viral replication and infection progression. The dPNA platform is engineered to overcome traditional delivery challenges associated with nucleic acid therapies by enhancing cell permeability without the need for complex delivery vehicles.
