Overview

GNR-085 is a humanized monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate of ocrelizumab, developed by AO GENERIUM for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). It selectively targets the CD20 antigen, a protein expressed on the surface of pre-B and mature B lymphocytes but not on stem cells or plasma cells. By binding to CD20, GNR-085 mediates the depletion of CD20-positive B cells through mechanisms including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). This depletion modulates the autoimmune activity and inflammatory response associated with MS pathogenesis. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development as a biosimilar alternative to established anti-CD20 therapies.
