Overview

GNR-107 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of panitumumab, currently being developed by the Russian biotechnology company AO GENERIUM. It is a recombinant human IgG2 monoclonal antibody that binds with high affinity to the extracellular domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). By binding to EGFR, GNR-107 prevents the interaction between the receptor and its ligands, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-α). This inhibition blocks the activation of intracellular signaling pathways, including the RAS-RAF-MAPK and PI3K-Akt pathways, which are critical for tumor cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. GNR-107 is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer and is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
