Overview

GNX102-ADC is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by GlycoNex. It combines a proprietary humanized monoclonal antibody (GNX102) with a cytotoxic payload to target and kill cancer cells with high specificity. The antibody component, GNX102, binds to novel tumor-associated glycans—specifically branched Lewis B/Y glycan antigens—overexpressed on the surface of various solid tumors such as gastric, bladder, pancreatic, lung, and colorectal cancers. By targeting these abnormal sugar molecules (tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens or TACAs), the ADC delivers its cytotoxic drug directly to cancer cells while sparing normal tissue. The mechanism involves both direct delivery of the cytotoxic agent and immune-mediated cell death via Fc-mediated mechanisms like ADCC (antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity). Preclinical studies have shown strong tumor suppression in animal models; Phase 1 clinical trials demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability profiles[2][3][5][6].
